Trying something new with Hungryhouse

What’s your favourite takeaway food? If I leave the husband to his own devices, it’s pizza every single time, which I can only tolerate in moderation whereas if I had my way, it’d be sushi from our local Japanese favourite, Poppy Hana.  Occasionally we’re able to agree on an Indian, but when Hungryhouse got in touch to try and tempt us into trying something new for a change, we compromised on trying out some Chinese food.

To tempt you into ordering something different, they’re offering a 20% discount for anyone who orders for the first time from Thai, Korean, Brazilian, and loads of other exotic takeaways on hungryhouse throughout August.  There’s a bit of an added incentive if you are going to order something different, they’re giving out loads of prizes – including Rebel Bingo tickets, £25 hungryhouse vouchers, and even some £100 red letter day vouchers.  Please note though that if you win, you will have to take me along on a spa day!

To be in with a chance of winning these prizes just follow hungryhouse on either twitter or instagram and then tag a tweet or photo with the hashtag #trysomethingnew and @hungryhouse. The closing date for entries is August 31st, with hungryhouse choosing winners out of a hat. All of the details about the competition can be found on the hungryhouse blog.

As for us, our Chinese food order from River View Wapping was a mixed bag – we had some excellent duck pancakes and some tasty spicy prawns but the chicken and cashew nuts and soft shell crab rolls were a dud.  But it made for a refreshing change and more importantly, the husband has now agreed to give Chinese food another go the next time we’re out of food!

Disclosure: I received a voucher from Hungryhouse to try out ‘something new’.

  1. Have you ever just got a bunch of different friends to pick up something from many different takeaways and turn up at yours and combine them all? Its how you end up with pizza topped with burgers and chowmein and it is far more magical than it sounds. Especially if you’ve had a couple!

What do you think?
